How I Stopped a Flareup in Its Tracks

I recently discovered a new trigger for my eczema. I was trying a diy flaxseed gel for my hair. I made sure that the gel had plenty emollients so that it defined my curls without making my hair feel hard.

Unfortunately, I noticed a tingle that later turned into an itch and scales.

What I did next stopped the itch in one day and cleared the scales in two:

      1. I discarded the gel.
      2. I took my antihistamine eye drops twice a day for the first day, then once daily for two additional days.
      3. I added sea moss to my serums. I have taken it orally before but recently read that it is very effective when used topically.
The sea moss was the key turning point in stopping the potential flareup in its track. It calmed the itch immediately. It also calmed the rash that always stuck around in a couple of stubborn spots.

I went from 98% to  99% rash-free since I included this ingredient in my formula. The one remaining percent is around my ears - where I have a habit of scratching; thus causing irritation and a reaction. I’m still a work in progress. 😉
